Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Together with similar technologies such as local storage, they let a site remember your actions and preferences (like being signed in, or your theme choice) over time. This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies SkillSaber uses across our websites and web application, and how you can control them.

2. Cookies and Technologies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the Services to work and cannot be switched off in our systems:

  • Authentication session — when you sign in to the app, a secure, HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in and protects your account. It is removed when you sign out or when it expires.
  • Security — cookies and headers used to prevent cross-site request forgery and to keep requests bound to your session.

2.2 Preferences

  • Local storage — we store interface preferences such as your theme (light/dark) and language on your device so they persist between visits. These values never leave your browser.

2.3 Analytics

  • Google Analytics (Firebase) — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga. The data we receive is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

2.4 What We Do Not Use

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or sell data collected through cookies to third parties.

3. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Browser settings: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.
  • Google Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Clearing local storage:your browser's site-data settings let you remove stored preferences at any time.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
